Cotton Dishcloth Lovin’ Part 4

The pattern for this dishcloth was on the ball band of a ball of Sugar’n Cream that I had in my cotton stash.  The original pattern called for a cast on of 49 stitches and to knit until the piece was 25.5 cm in length.  That is a very big dishcloth, too big for my liking so I have scaled it down to make it a more manageable size.

Using 4 mm needles and 8 ply dishcloth cotton of choice, cast on 35 stitches.

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Knit 1, *knit 1 in next stitch in row below (you tube video here), knit 1.  Repeat from * to end of row

Row 3: Knit

Row 4: Knit two, *knit 1 in next stitch in row below, knit 1.Repeat from * to end of row

These 4 rows make up your pattern.  Work the 4 rows of the pattern a further 14 times until your piece measures approx. 18 cm, finishing with a knit row.  Cast off and sew in ends.  This pattern makes a nice soft dishcloth that would be ideal for knitting up as gifts.
