Japanese Christmas Decorations

We visited Japan in September last year and when I travel I like to get a Christmas decoration or memento to hang on my tree.  I couldn’t find anything Christmasy so I decided to make some decorations to remind me of my trip.

I brought a packet of Origami paper from Loft (if you love stationery it’s definitely worth a visit) and when I got home I brought 2 packet of wooden stars.  I used slightly watered down PVA glue to stick the paper to the stars so that the paper didn’t go crinkly and left them to dry, paper side down, for 24 hours.

I used a sharp craft knife to cut away the excess paper, attached the string to hang and voila!  They turned out great and looked so good on the tree with my eclectic assortment of decorations.
