Frankentrolly gets retired

Every Saturday morning I get up early and head down to our local vegetable market.  My trusty trolley makes the journey with me each week but sadly it recently had to be retired.  I brought it 14 years ago when we moved into our current house and it has certainly done a few miles including grocery shopping during Covid and taking my washing to the laundromat to be dried in Winter.  I paid $20 for it and we worked out that each trip was roughly 0.02c usage so I definitely got my money’s worth (my rule is $1 a use for anything I buy).  I have patched it up a number of times over the years, earning it the nickname Frankentrolley but when the wheel fell off for the third time and we couldn’t get it to stay on it was time for it to be retired.

Luckily I had been given a voucher for my birthday and the store the voucher was for was having a half price sale so I got a new trolley and the old one has now been recycled.  Hopefully the new one lasts just as long!
