April Project Roundup
April was a very productive month project wise. I made myself a cape using a self drafted pattern and some boiled wool that I got for Xmas a couple of years ago. I used some Liberty Tana lawn for the binding and some grey faux fur for the arms and the hood and I am pleased with how it turned out. It looks great on and will be nice and warm. I made a second one for my sister who lives in London so we will be matchy matchy from afar.
I finished some Christmas Decorations that I started last year. I managed to get one finished and hung on my tree last Christmas but the other 2 had languished in the WIP pile for a bit so I dug them out and finished them off at sewing group. All ready for the tree this year.
I finished my first pair of socks for the year. These ones are for Hubby and are made with Crucci Sock Yarn, shade 22. I made the heel length 2.5 inches for this pair and they fit much better. I used the Winwick Mum basic sock pattern which is my go to for sock knitting. I really need to branch out and try another pattern!
I finished my beanie that I started in March. I made the Purl Soho Mixed Rib Hat using leftovers from my Oli Cardigan and my Snug Sweater held together, topped off with a bright yellow fluffy pom pom. I am so happy with how this turned out as the yarn I was used was thicker than the pattern recommended and it is sooooooo warm. I can now retire my beanie I knit 10 years ago which has served me well.
I made myself a bag to put my wet togs in after I have been for a swim and I literally gave myself a headache with the colour. It is very bright and I certainly won’t misplace it any time soon!
And last but not least, I made a Town Bag from Grainline Studio. I am already using it for a crochet cardigan project I am working on.
