All the WIP’s

This year I have decided that I need to get stuck in and finish all of the knitting and crochet projects I have cast on. I have seven projects currently sitting in bags that I have started, some I have cast on and knit only a couple of rows. I won’t cast anything new on until they are all done as an incentive to get them finished. I have also had a clean out of my fabric and yarn and definitely do not need to buy any more of either this year.

First project off the pile is a Corner to Corner Granny Square Blanket using some Stylecraft acrylic yarn I had left over from another project. I decided to start with this one first as it was almost finished.

Next up is a crochet vest which is the cover star of the book C.I Y (Crochet it yourself) by Emma Wright. The book was a birthday pressie a couple of years ago and I started the vest last winter so aiming to have it finished so I can wear it this winter. I am making this one out of scraps I had in my stash already.

This one is a vintage pattern that I got from the Op shop and purchased the yarn at Capital Fibre Fest in 2024 and started knitting the same year. The pattern is a Fair Isle vest, Shepherd Leaflet no 169. I have done the ribbing for the front and stopped when I got to the first row of colourwork so will be good to pick this one up again and hopefully finish in time for winter.

This is eventually going to be a Lisette Shawl, pattern by Truly Myrtle. I brought the yarn for this at a Wool on Wheels pop up here in Wellington waaaaaay pre Covid and have knitted a wee bit and it has languished at the bottom of my knitting bag for years. I absolutely love the colour of this yarn so can’t wait to see it knit up.

This is the start of an Ivy Trellis hat by Never Not Knitting. The yarn was purchased at the Capital Fibre Fest in 2024 and I can’t remember when I started this one.

It should not surprise you in the slightest to see socks on this list. I constantly have a 4 ply pair on the go but these ones are 8 ply for Hubby using the Basic 8 ply boot sock pattern from Winwick Mum. The yarn is West Yorkshire spinners, my favourite sock yarn of all time.

Lastly, this will become a scarf. more precisely, the Wizarding Transportation Scarf by Tanis Grey from the book Harry Potter: Knitting Magic. I’m excited to see this one grow. The main thing I am looking forward to after finishing all these projects is having my needles back in one place so I don’t have to go hunting for something when I need it for something else! I will do separate Ta Dah! posts when I have finished each of the projects so stay tuned for some knitting goodness.
